01. Mattress disposal cost in Arizona
- Single twin or full: $75–$99
- Single queen: $89–$119
- Single king: $109–$129
- Mattress + box spring: +$30–$50
- Bundle with other items (full junk-removal job): often free as an add-on inside a 1/4-truck minimum
02. Can a used mattress be donated in Arizona?
Almost never. Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul, and most Arizona resale charities refuse used mattresses because of bed-bug liability and state health code. Some shelters accept new-in-plastic mattresses only. Assume yours is haul material unless it's never been slept on.
03. Are mattresses actually recycled?
A real mattress recycling operation strips the cover, separates foam, picks out the steel springs, and bales each material for resale. There are a small number of Phoenix-area operators that do this; the rest of the time, mattresses are baled at C&D landfills. We route to recyclers when capacity is available and to permitted landfill when it isn't — your invoice tells you which.
04. What if you suspect bed bugs
Wrap the mattress in plastic before we arrive (heavy-duty contractor bag or plastic mattress bag from Home Depot, ~$15). Tell the crew at booking. This protects our truck and other customers' homes, and it's standard practice — no judgment, no upcharge.
05. City bulk trash and mattresses
Phoenix takes mattresses at bulk pickup but they go to landfill, not recycling. Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, and Tempe generally do too. Scottsdale's luxury HOA neighborhoods often prohibit them at curb entirely. If you're inside a 9-day set-out window and don't mind the wait, bulk trash is the cheapest option — otherwise, hire.
- Single mattress haul: $75–$129 most sizes
- Used mattresses are rarely donate-eligible in AZ
- Wrap in plastic if bed bugs are suspected — standard, no upcharge
- Real recycling is rare; most go to permitted C&D landfill
- Cheapest haul is bundled inside a larger 1/4-truck minimum
