Tear down + haul off

Shed Demolition in Mesa & the Phoenix Metro
Wood, metal, or vinyl — gone.

Shed teardowns and haul-aways. Wood, metal, vinyl, or plastic — we demo, load, and leave a clean pad.

About our shed demolition service

Phoenix sheds don't age well. The wood ones warp, the metal ones rust through, the plastic ones get brittle in the UV, and the vinyl ones fade. When yours is past the point of saving, CNC demos and hauls it in a single visit — no second trip, no leftover scrap pile in the yard.

We bring sledges, sawzalls, pry bars, and crowbars. Wood sheds come down in panels, metal sheds are unbolted and cut into trailer-friendly sections, and plastic/vinyl are disassembled at the panel joints. Contents inside (lawnmowers, tools, old chemicals) can be removed first — just point at what stays.

Most Valley municipalities don't require a permit for shed demo under 200 sq ft, but we'll advise you on Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, and Gilbert rules for larger structures or sheds on concrete pads.

How shed demolition works

  1. 1
    Empty first (optional)

  2. 2
    Demo the structure

Sectioned with sawzalls and pry bars; debris staged for loading.

  3. 3
    Load + haul

Wood goes to C&D recycling, metal to scrap, plastic/vinyl to landfill — all in one trailer.

  4. 4
    Clean pad

Pad swept, perimeter cleared of nails and debris. Concrete pad removal optional add-on.

What affects shed demolition pricing in Mesa

Small 6x8: $449–$649. Medium 8x12: $649–$899. Large 10x16+: $899–$1,499.

Material

Wood is fastest. Metal takes longer (unbolting). Concrete pads add line-item cost.

Contents

Empty shed prices baseline. Add contents removal if interior isn't pre-cleared.

Access

Open backyard access is cheapest. Through-the-garage or tight side-yard access adds a small fee.

Shed Demolition in Arizona: local know-how

  • 🌵Most Valley cities don't require a permit for shed demo under 200 sq ft — confirm with your municipality for larger structures.
  • 🌵Tucson Electric / APS lines are sometimes anchored to old sheds — confirm power is killed before demo.
  • 🌵Phoenix HOAs may require shed replacement plans on file before demo — check CC&Rs.

What the shed is made of changes everything

Metal sheds are the best case. They come apart along their original panel seams, the material is almost entirely recoverable steel or aluminium that goes straight to scrap, and the volume collapses dramatically once disassembled. These are usually the quickest and cheapest teardowns.

Wood sheds are more work. Framing, sheathing, roofing and floor come apart in sequence, fasteners are often rusted solid after Arizona summers, and the material is mostly disposal — treated or painted wood has no clean recycling route, though clean framing lumber sometimes does. Roofing adds weight disproportionate to its volume.

Resin and plastic sheds sit in between: fast to dismantle, light to carry, almost entirely landfill at the end because the panels are a mixed polymer nobody separates. In all three cases the real variable is the floor and base, which is where the surprise usually lives.

What is underneath, and what the HOA thinks

Sheds sit on something, and that something stays after the shed is gone. A concrete pad is a decision rather than a problem — it makes a good base for a future structure, a seating area or a grill station — but removing it is a separate scope, because broken concrete is dense and goes to a different stream. Wood skids and gravel bases come out easily; anchored or poured footings do not.

Expect a rectangle of dead ground, discolouration and compaction where the shed stood, and often pest activity underneath that nobody knew about. None of that is unusual, but it is the reason a shed removal frequently turns into a wider backyard cleanup while the access path is already clear.

In HOA communities, check before scheduling. Many Valley associations have rules about visible work, contractor hours and debris staging, and some require notice before any structure is removed. The teardown itself is loud and visible for a few hours, which is precisely what those rules exist to govern.

Playsets, pergolas and the rest of the backyard

The same teardown applies to most backyard structures, and they tend to arrive together. Wooden playsets are the most common companion job, and they are slower than they look: hardware seizes after years in Arizona sun, and the swing beams and tower frames are heavier than they appear from the ground.

Trampolines come apart faster but the spring tension needs handling properly rather than optimistically. Pergolas and shade structures are usually anchored into concrete footings, which is the part that determines whether the job is an afternoon or a day. Chain link and wood fencing is straightforward but produces far more volume than people estimate.

If several of these are going, do them in one visit. The access path is already open, the crew and truck are already there, and the marginal cost of the second structure is a fraction of booking it separately — which is also why we would rather hear about the playset at quoting time than discover it in the back corner on the day.

Why CNC

Single-visit demo + haul. We arrive, we tear down, we leave the pad swept. No second-day return, no leftover scrap.
