Every other room produces junk. The garage produces junk plus a chemistry set. Paint and stain, solvents and thinners, motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, pesticides and fertiliser, pool chemicals, propane cylinders, automotive and lithium batteries, old fluorescent tubes — a normal garage holds several of these, and none can go in a truck with the furniture.

They are household hazardous waste, and they need a dedicated collection program or facility. This is not a technicality: propane cylinders can rupture, lithium batteries ignite when crushed, and mixed solvents in a load create a genuine hazard for the crew and the facility receiving it.

Heat is the other factor, and it decides what survives. Expect more of a garage to be disposal and less to be donation than the same volume from inside the house.
